The Consulate General of the Peoples Republic of China in San Francisco will only accept applications for visas from residents of the Consulate's area of jurisdiction - Alaska, Northern California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington State. Other applicants residing outside the above jursdiction should apply through our Washington DC office.

• Submit national passport /valid at least 6 months beyond stay
• 1 Visa Application Form (Q1) the 2 pages form only
• 1 Passport-type photograph required
• ORIGINAL Alien Registration Card (Green Card) -or- evidence of legal status in USA (valid visa plus I-94 in passport)
• An applicant who was born in China is required to submit his /her Chinese passport, or copy of its personal information page, or last foreign passport with a Chinese visa when he/she applies for a Chinese visa with a new foreign passport. A Chinese child born in US shall provide the original and copy of his/her bith certificate for the first time of applying for a visa.
  
• Copy of round-trip air tickets, or travel agency/airline itinerary and hotel confirmation required if you are requesting same day service
• Completed Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)

Business Visa Requirements:

• If requesting Double Entry visa or Multiple Entries visa, a letter explaining the need is required
• Copy of round-trip air tickets, or travel agency/airline itinerary and hotel confirmation required if you are requesting same day service
• An applicant who was born in China is required to submit his /her Chinese passport, or copy of its personal information page, or last foreign passport with a Chinese visa when he/she applies for a Chinese visa with a new foreign passport. • A business letter from your firm, addressed to: "Consulate General of The Peoples Republic of China, Visa Section, San Francisco CA", explaining the purpose of the trip, and guaranteeing financial support for the applicant while in the Peoples Republic of China, and return transportation.
  
• An invitation known as a Visa Notification Form, from the Foreign Ministry of the Peoples Republic of China (not from Hong Kong or Macau).

Employment "Z" Visa Requirements:

• Submit National passport /valid at least 6 months beyond stay
• 1 Visa Application Form (Q1)
• 1 Passport-type photograph required
• Photocopy of Alien Registration Card (Green Card) -or- evidence of legal status in USA (valid visa plus I-94 in passport)
• Completed Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)
• A business letter from your firm, addressed to: "Consulate General of The Peoples Republic of China, Visa Section, San Francisco CA", explaining the purpose of the trip, and guaranteeing financial support and return transportation for the applicant while in the Peoples Republic of China
  
• An official invitation issued by a Chinese Government Agency -or-
• a government-authorized company/organization Z visa invitation -or-
• an Employment License issued by the Chinese Labor Ministry, are required.

The "Z" visa is usually issued valid for entry for three months from the issue date, for a stay of 30 days from the date of entry. It may be extended locally by your employer in China.

• Your application, which must be fully and accurately completed, is hand carried to the Consulate of PR China and is usually processed in four to five business days.
• Rush processing of 24 hours issue (Express) or same-day (rush) is available (additional Embassy fee applies). TDS Service Fee for same-day processing is $90.00.
