REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN A VISA TO ENTER BOLIVIA




Passport

Please send TDS your current valid and signed passport. U.S passport must be valid 6 months beyond intended stay and must have at least one blank visa page. If you do not have any blank visa pages in your passport, TDS can assist you in applying for additional pages. If your passport is not valid 6 months beyond your intended stay, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

 

Photo

Please send 1 recent professional passport-type photograph.
Digital and non-passport photographs are not acceptable.

 

 

Proof of Departure

Please send a copy of your round trip airline tickets, or itinerary or e-ticket, or letter of confirmation from a travel agent. The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information. The Embassy does not recommend purchasing your ticket prior to a visa being issued.

 

 

Bank Statement

A copy of the applicant's recent bank statement or evidence of adequate finance, such as a letter from a bank, or money market statement. It is advisable to erase account numbers.

 

 

Good Conduct Certificate

Applicants must provide a Good Conduct Certificate from their local Police Department.

 

 

Hotel Reservation or Invitation

A copy of your hotel reservation covering the amount of days you will be visiting Bolivia or an original letter of invitation from friends or relatives in Bolivia stating their address and responsibility for your visit to Bolivia.

 

 

Vaccinations

Vaccinations - Original International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever required.

TDS Order Form

The order form gives TDS your name, address, shipping information and payment method. Multiple applicants can be entered using one order form. You only need to complete one TDS order form per request. Please print two copies of the confirmation page. Include one copy with the documents you ship to TDS and keep one copy for your records.

While completing the online order form in this step, you will be asked how you want to pay TDS fees. You may pay our fees online with a credit card or enclose a personal or business check or money order.

Additional Helpful Information

The Bolivian Tourist Visa will be valid for five (5) years since the date of issue and will permit entrance to Bolivia for a total of ninety (90) days each year.

A Bolivian tourist visa holder will be able to use it for three (3) times in one (1) year for a total of ninety (90) days.

Only in very special cases will the Bolivian immigration authorities extend the period of permanency over ninety (90) days.

Your application will be hand carried to the Embassy, and is usually processed in 5 business days.
