U.S passport must be valid at least 6 months beyond the validity of the visa you request, (i.e if you request a 1 year visa your passport must be valid for 18 months) and must have at least one blank visa page. If you do not have any blank visa pages in your passport, TDS can assist you in applying for additional pages. If your passport is not valid at least 6 months beyong your intended stay, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

A business letter of responsibility (sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
Embassy of Kazakhstan, Visa Section, Washington DC.
The letter must explain all of the following:
Nature of business to be performed
Name and address of reference to be visited
This letter should request Multiple Entries visa if required
Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit
The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

SINGLE ENTRY:

A letter of introduction, from the applicant and addressed to the Embassy of Kazakhstan is required, stating the purpose and dates of the visit and your itinerary in Kazakhstan.

DOUBLE/TRIPLE/MULTIPLE ENTRIES:

If you apply for a multiple visa for up to one year, a copy of the invitation letter from a company in Kazakhstan is needed (same for double and triple entry visas). This letter must be submitted by the inviting company in Kazakhstan to the Department of Consular Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Department of Consular Services will provide the hosting company with a reference number for you to submit it with other documents to the Consular Section.

NOTE:

An invitation is no longer required for a single entry business visa for U.S. citizens for a stay up to 30 days, but applicants for Double Triple entry, or multiple entries visas, will require a letter of invitation from the Kazakh host, approved by the Kazakhstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

A copy of an invitation letter from the Regional Departments of the Ministry of Education of Kazakhstan is required.

This letter must be submitted by the Regional Departments of the Ministry of Education to the Department of Consular Services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

A visa is issued by the Consular Section of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the United States only upon the receipt of confirmation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

NOTE:

Prospective adoptive parents can apply for a single entry visa for a period defined in the invitation (Please indicate the exact date of your planned arrival in Kazakhstan in the visa application form.)

You must complete the Online Order Form.

The order form gives TDS your name, address, shipping information and payment method. Multiple applicants can be entered using one order form. You only need to complete one TDS order form per request. Please print two copies of the confirmation page. Include one copy with the documents you ship to TDS and keep one copy for your records.

While completing the online order form in this step, you will be asked how you want to pay TDS fees. You may pay our fees online with a credit card or enclose a personal or business check or money order.

Please use FedEx Priority Overnight. Do NOT ship "First Overnight." This will delay the delivery of your package.

Visa issue is 6-8 business days from the date of submission. The Embassy is not open each Wednesday.

If you are transiting through Kazakhstan, to other Newly Independent States, you must obtain a Kazakh transit visa. Fee $165 - valid for 72 hours transit - onward visa must appear in the passport. Apply using tourist visa instructions (excluding invitation).

All foreign citizens must register at the local office of the Minister of Interior or at the hotel they are staying at within 72 hours upon arrival to Kazakhstan. Otherwise they will be fined by the immigration service.

HIV test certificate for those applying for a visa for a duration of stay over 3 months.

Your application will be hand carried to the Embassy, and is usually processed in approximately 6-8 business days.
