Please send TDS your current valid and signed passport. U.S passport must be valid at least 6 months beyond the validity of the visa you request, (i.e if you request a 1 year visa your passport must be valid for 18 months) and must have at least one blank visa page. If you do not have any blank visa pages in your passport, TDS can assist you in applying for additional pages. If your passport is not valid at least 6 months beyond your intended stay, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

Applicants applying for a Tourist or Private Visit Visa must supply a Letter of Introduction addressed to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Kazakhstan. Please, indicate the purpose of your trip, your contact in Kazakhstan, the dates of your planned trip, and places to be visited.

Applicants staying in a private home must apply for a Private Visit Visa.

An invitation is no longer required for a single entry private visa for U.S. citizens for a stay up to 30 days, but applicants for Double Triple entry, or multiple entries visas, will require a letter of invitation from the Kazakh host, approved by the Kazakhstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In addition to the requirements above:

A copy of the parents passport/s

A copy of the child's birth certificate

If only one parent is traveling to Kazakhstan, a letter from one of the child's parents stating non-objection to the child's other parent taking him or her to Kazakhstan.

Note: All consular fees above include a $5 check writing fee.

**The Consular fee is gratis for children under 16 years of age.

You must complete the Online Order Form.

The order form gives TDS your name, address, shipping information and payment method. Multiple applicants can be entered using one order form. You only need to complete one TDS order form per request. Please print two copies of the confirmation page. Include one copy with the documents you ship to TDS and keep one copy for your records.

While completing the online order form in this step, you will be asked how you want to pay TDS fees. You may pay our fees online with a credit card or enclose a personal or business check or money order.

Urgent applications should be shipped to TDS using only the FedEx Company.
Please use FedEx Priority Overnight. Do NOT ship "First Overnight." This will delay the delivery of your package.

Visa issue is 6-8 business days from the date of submission. The Embassy is not open each Wednesday.

If you are transiting through Kazakhstan, to other Newly Independent States, you must obtain a Kazakh transit visa. Fee $165 - valid for 72 hours transit - onward visa must appear in the passport. Apply using tourist visa instructions (excluding invitation).

All foreign citizens must register at the local office of the Minister of Interior or at the hotel they are staying at within 72 hours upon arrival to Kazakhstan. Otherwise they will be fined by the immigration service

HIV test certificate for those applying for a visa for a duration of stay over 3 months.

Tourist Visas are issued for a stay of up to 30 days in Kazakhstan and cannot be extended in Kazakhstan.

Your application will be hand carried to the Embassy, and is usually processed in approximately 6-8 business days.

Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP)

By connecting on the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program, State Department will be able to assist you better in the case of an emergency, such as if you lose your passport or it is stolen while you are abroad.
