REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER PERU

Tourist Visa

  • Visa not required for stay of up to 90 days.
  • A valid U.S. Passport is required.

Business Visa

  • Submit your valid U.S. Passport
  • 2 Visa Application Forms, completed and signed (Section 3 on each application form must include a signature, thumb print, and photo)
  • 2 Passport-type photographs required
  • Completed Cover Page and Credit Card Authorization forms (print from browser)
  • A business letter of responsibility (sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:

    Consulate General of Peru, Visa Section, New York, N.Y.

    The letter must explain all of the following:
    • Purpose of travel
    • Business reference to be visited
    • Guaranteeing financial support and return transportation to the U.S.
    • This letter mustbe signed by a company officer other than the applicant.

    Your application will be hand carried to the Consulate Office, and is usually processed in 48 hours. Some nationalities may take up to 4 weeks to approve.

  • TDS Service Fee:
    $45.00 Per visa

  • Consular Fee:
    $30.00 Per visa

  • Include credit card authorization, a check or money order payable to "Travel Document Systems, Inc." for TDS handling fee per visa, plus Embassy Consular Fee per visa, and return FedEx.

Visa Notes
  • The Peru business visa is usually issued for a single entry within three months from date of issue, for stay in Peru not to exceed 90 days.

REGISTER YOUR TRIP:

The U.S. Department of State encourages all American travelers to register with their local Embassy or Consulate when arriving in a foreign country. Registration helps the Embassy to provide important services for American citizens residing or traveling abroad. Some of these services include:
  • Locating individuals in cases of family or personal emergencies,
  • Relaying important travel and safety information about the region,
  • Arranging evacuation transportation in cases of natural disaster or civil unrest,
  • Issuing replacement passports when originals are lost, and
  • A number of other administrative services relating to personal documentation.
Without the information provided through registration, the Embassy is severely hindered in its ability to provide these services. Many of these services involve emergency situations and time constraints, therefore failure to register will almost certainly lead to delays at moments when you can least afford them.
