VISA REQUIREMENTS
Semester at Sea has retained the services of Pinnacle Travel Documents Systems to assist Semester at Sea participants with Passports and Entry Visas for the countries on Semester at Sea voyages.
Please review below the requirements specific to your voyage and submit any necessary forms, payment, and documents to the address below using FedEX or other traceable courier service. Please do not send your documents via regular First Class, Certified, Registered or Priority mail rather if you are using the USPS please use their Express Mail next day delivery service.

Non-U.S. Passport Holders: These services are targeted primarily to U.S. passport holders. If you do not hold a U.S. passport please send a brief inquiry via email to semester@traveldocs.com for specific requirements associated with your itinerary (Indicate your nationality and your current legal visa status in the U.S. and the state in which you currently reside in the U.S.)
Summer 2010 Voyage
The requirements below are for U.S. passport holders at the time of publication and are subject to change prior to the actual voyage:
- Your passport valid until February 21, 2011 with 8 fully blank visa pages. Please contact us now at semester@traveldocs.com for assistance with first time or renewal of U.S. passports or to add pages to your existing U.S. passport. Note that the pages at the back of your passport reserved for amendments and endorsements do not count among the blank pages require for this voyage.
- Visas for Turkey and Egypt will be obtained en route on board by the ship. You will not need to apply for any visas in advance of sailing
Fall 2010 Voyage
The requirements below are for U.S. passport holders at the time of publication and are subject to change prior to the actual voyage:
- Your passport valid until June 13, 2011 with 10 fully blank visa pages. Please be certain it is signed and keep a copy for your records. Please contact us now at semester@traveldocs.com for assistance with first time or renewal of U.S. passports or to add pages to your existing U.S. passport. Note that the pages at the back of your passport reserved for amendments and endorsements do not count among the blank pages require for this voyage.
- 1 visa application form for India
- 1 visa application form for China
- 4 visa application forms for Ghana
- 7 passport type photographs (No eye glasses allowed in photos)
- 1 clear photocopy of your drivers license and student identification card
- 1 clear photocopy of your birth certificate
- Estimated payment of $473.00
- Proof of legal status in US (non-US citizens ONLY)

PLEASE NOTE: You will need to wait until April 23, 2010 to complete your online visa application for India due to limited visa validity.

Spring 2011 Voyage

- Your passport valid until November 12, 2011 with 10 fully blank visa pages. Please be certain it is signed and keep a copy for your records. Note that the pages at the back of your passport reserved for amendments and endorsements do not count among the blank pages require for this voyage.
- 1 visa application form for India

- 1 visa application form for China
- 4 visa application forms for Ghana
- 9 passport type photographs (no eye glasses allowed in photos)
- 1 clear photocopy of your drivers license and student identification card

- Proof of legal status in US (non-US citizens ONLY)
PLEASE NOTE: Full instructions as well as samples and partially completed visa applications will be available for download by U.S. passport holders beginning August1, 2010 as prior to this date, it would be too early to apply due to the limited validity of the required visas.
