REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN VISA TO ENTER PORTUGAL
Official/Diplomatic Travel
- U.S. Passport Official or Diplomatic Passport / at least 6 months remaining validity
- 1 Visa Application Form, completed and signed
- 1 Passport-type
photograph required
- Letter from sending government department or agency, addressed to: "Embassy of Portugal, Visa Section, Washington D.C." The letter must state:
- Applicant's position and title
- Purpose of travel
- Where staying
- Dates of the trip
- Reference person in Portugal

Your application will be hand carried to the Embassy; normal processing time is approximately three business days.

- $19.00 Fedex Letter (Priority Overnight - up to three passports)
- $23.50 Fedex Envelope (Priority Overnight - overweight package)
- $29.00 Fedex Letter (Saturday Delivery)
Visa Information
- The visa is usually valid for a single entry within three months from date issued for a stay not to exceed 30 days.
