Please send TDS your current valid and signed passport. It must not expire within 6 months and must have at least TWO blank side by side blank visa pages. Foreign Embassies cannot issue a visa on a page not labeled as a Visa page. Amendment and Endorsement pages in the back of the passport cannot be used for issuance of a visa.
A visa cannot be stamped on a page even if only one Small Stamp is on the visa page. If you do not have TWO blank side by side visa pages in your passport, TDS can assist you in applying for additional pages. If your passport expires within 6 months, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

Please send a copy of your round trip airline tickets, or itinerary or e-ticket, or letter of confirmation from a travel agent. The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information. The Embassy does not recommend purchasing your ticket prior to a visa being issued.

A business letter of responsibility (sample) is required (two copies), to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
Consular of Democratic Republic of Congo, Visa Section, New York, N.Y
The letter must explain all of the following:
Nature of business to be performed
Name and address of reference to be visited
This letter should request Multiple Entries visa if required
Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit
The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

A Letter of Invitation is required from the company or partners to be visited in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The letter must be on company letterhead and signed by a representative of the company, and should include the applicant's name and the name, address, dates of planned visit, description of purpose of journey to DRC and telephone number for a contact person at the overseas company.

This letter must be notarized at the City Hall in the DRC and legalized by the Direction Generale des Migrations (DMG) the declaration of liability or "engagement de prise en charge" issued by the Direction Generale des Migrations (DGM) is now required to apply for a visa, except if you are being invited to DRC by a government office in which case an invite from that office will be accepted. 

A fax or email copy is accepted by the Embassy.

If traveling to support a USAID program or contract you must submit a letter from USAID in addition to the Business Letter and Letter of Invitation requirements above. If you do not submit a supporting letter from USAID visa processing times will extend to 10+ business days, with the USAID letter most visas are issued in 2-4 business days.

Vaccinations - International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever required. Cholera vaccination is recommended but is not required.
