VISA REQUIREMENTS 2019 - 2020
U.S. passport holders may download full instructions along with visa application samples and partially pre-completed visa applications for voyages and land programs that require visas using the links below. These forms can be completed online and then printed for your original signature before sending them along with your actual passport, the required number of photographs, and payment to our address below.
Please note visas that must be obtained prior to sailing are bolded in the table below. There are also a number of voyages that require visas that will be obtained on arrival by Silversea Cruises for U.S. passport holders. These voyages along with those where U.S. guests have the option of either obtaining visas independently on arrival or in advance of travel are flagged with footnotes at the bottom of the table.
Please note that the line recommends that your passport be valid for a minimum of six months beyond the completion of your travel and that you have a minimum of four fully blank pages in your passport for each segment on which you are sailing. We can assist you with the renewal of your passport at the same time your visas are issued or independent of any visa applications. See relevant links below for instructions and forms.

1. Electronic Travel Authority required for Australia must be obtained prior to sailing – apply on line http://www.traveldocs.com/uploads/forms/AustralianPTDSETA.pdf or directly with the Australian goverment at www.eta.immi.gov.au and bring your printed confirmation with you to the ship.
2. On these voyages visas for the following countries will be obtained on arrival for U.S. passport holders by Silversea Cruises: Madagascar, Mozambique, Tonga, Tanzania, Kenya, Indonesia, Myanmar, Oman, UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Vietnam, Maldive Islands, Angola, Ghana, Gambia, Cape Verde, Sao Tome Principe, Congo, Cameroon, Benin, Togo, Sierra Leone and Papua New Guinea. Please note that this information is for U.S. passport holders transiting these countries as a port of call and relevant charges will be placed on your shipboard account. Embarking US passport holders will obtain visas on arrival at the airport in Dubai for the U.A.E in Muscat for Oman and in Benoa for Indonesia. 3. Russian visas will be provided on a “blanket” basis by the ship EXCEPT for those passengers who wish to do independent sightseeing outside of the locally scheduled shore excursions offered by the ship who must obtain individual visas in advance of sailing.
4. South African immigration REQUIRES that you have a minimum of TWO FACING AND COMPLETELY BLANK visa pages in your passport at the time of entry. Note that these cannot be the pages reserved for amendments and endorsements at the back of your passport.
5. This itinerary enters China first in Shanghai so U.S. passport holders qualify for a 15 day visa waiver and will NOT require a Chinese visa prior to travel.
As of October 1, 2016 a 15 day Visa Free Regulation has gone into effect for all Non-Chinease nationals arriving and departing China by ship with Shanghai, China being the first Port of call in their cruise Itinery. Guests are premitted to travel within the ares of Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin and the other cities or ports in Liaoning Hebel. Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fuijan, Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan provinces. Please note that Xian is not on the list of areas covered under thi regulation. Guests participating in Xian Mid-Voyage Land Adventures must obtain a visa for China prior to arrival.
The following additional rules apply:
1. Guests without a China Visa are only premitted to participate in organized Shore Excursions within China, regardless if booked through Silversea or another tour provider. Please note that if an excursion is booked through anybody other than Silversea, we cannot be responsible for any challenges or documentaion issues should there be any.
2. Guests are only permitted to go into town independently if they are in possession of a Visa for China or belong to a nationality which does not require a Visa for China.
6. Silversea recommends guests obtain a visa for India prior to departure to avoid significant delays upon arrival to India. If you prefer you can obtain an E-visa at Indian e Tourist VISA.
Your E-visa must be validated when you arrive in India and this process can take several hours. Please bring a copy of your printed confirmation for your E-visa with you to the ship at time of boarding.
7. Guests must be in possession of International Certificate of Vaccination showing current immunization for yellow fever at the time of sailing.
8 Guests who intend to overnight off the ship while in Vietnam or who plan to depart Vietnam for another neighboring country and return to Vietnam will need individual visas for Vietnam in advance of sailing. Please contact PTDS directly for details and current instructions.
12. Individual Russian visas MUST be obtained in advance of sailing. The Russian Far East voyages involve special permissions to enter the area, as such all passengers MUST have a visa for Russia. Silversea Cruises will provide you with a letter of invitation/voucher to be submitted with your visa application approving your entry into Russia.
13. Electronic Travel Authority required for Sri Lanka must be obtained prior to travel - you may do so at http://www.traveldocs.com/uploads/forms/SriLankaPTDSETA.pdf

16 Individual Indian 10-year multiple entry manual visas MUST be obtained in advance of sailing. This itinerary stops in Cochin, India first which does not accept an Indian E-visa. US Passport Holders MUST obtain a manual visa for India prior to departure.
