REQUIREMENTS FOR U.S. CITIZENS TO OBTAIN A NIGERIAN BUSINESS VISA




Passport

Please send TDS your current valid and signed passport, plus one photocopy of the vital information page. It must not expire within 6 months and must have at least one blank visa page. If you do not have any blank visa pages in your passport, TDS can assist you in applying for additional pages. If your passport expires within 6 months, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

Please send 1 recent professional passport-type photograph.
Digital and non-passport photographs are not acceptable.

 

 

Proof of Departure

Please send a copy of your round trip airline tickets, or itinerary or e-ticket.   The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information. The Embassy does not recommend purchasing your ticket prior to a visa being issued.

 

 

Business Letter

A business letter of responsibility (sample) is required, to be typewritten on your company letterhead and addressed to:
Consulate of Nigeria Visa Section, New York NY

The letter must explain all of the following:
Nature of business to be performed
Name and address of reference to be visited
This letter should request Multiple Entries visa if required
Guarantee of return transportation and sufficient funds for the visit
The letter should be signed by an officer of the company other than the applicant.

 

 

Invitation Letter (Business Visa)

Letter of invitation from Host company or organization on company letterhead, the invitation must state the purpose of journey.

 

 

Certificate of Incorporation (Business Visa)

Certificate of Incorporation from the inviting organization is required.

 

 

Invitation Letter (Religious Visa)

Religious visitors and missionary workers will require pre-approval from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Abuja, Nigeria

It is recommended that your host arrange for the approval prior to submitting your application.

 

 

Invitation Letter (Educational Visa)

Letter of invitation from the host University or School, the invitation must state the purpose of journey.

 

 

Invitation Letter (Student Visa)

Please submit a copy of your identification card, with an accompanying letter from your institution.

Application Form




The Nigerian Consulate in New York requires that TWO versions of the application form be completed and signed.

Note: Follow the step by step online instructions. Your application must be submitted online and the appropriate Consular fee paid for by credit card online ($160USD). When confirmed, please
print a copy of your Visa Acknowledgment Slip, Visa Payment Slip and Payment Receipt from Google Checkout then mail all three to TDS for processing, along with all other requirements detailed above. Failure to fully complete the visa application form will delay processing the visa.

The embassy will charge $35 processing fee per application or $100 if the application is needed on a rush basis. These fees are to be paid separately through TDS.

 






TDS Order Form




You must complete the Online Order Form.

The order form gives TDS your name, address, shipping information and payment method. Multiple applicants can be entered using one order form. You only need to complete one TDS order form per request. Please print two copies of the confirmation page. Include one copy with the documents you ship to TDS and keep one copy for your records.

While completing the online order form in this step, you will be asked how you want to pay TDS fees. You may pay our fees online with a credit card or enclose a personal or business check or money order.




Additional Application Information

The Nigerian Embassy and Consulate General introduced (October 01, 2007) a web-based online visa application, which must be fully completed online and then printed. Please print an additional copy and send to TDS along with your passport and required documents, your credit card payment receipt for the base Consular fee ($160 single entry or multiple entries), and all other requirements to obtain the visa. TDS will pay the $35 processing fee required on your behalf -- do not pay this processing fee online by credit card. TDS will pay the $100 rush fee when required on your behalf -- do not pay the rush fee online by credit card.

Additional Helpful Information

The Nigeria business visa is usually issued for entry within three/six months of the issue date provided the passport remains valid, for stay of up to 90 days, as granted by the Consulate. The visit must be completed prior to the expiry date of the visa.
