COVID-19 Mandatory virological screening test for people traveling from the United States of America to Benin.
Since May 13th,2020, all pessengers traveling to Benin through the international airport of Cotonou are systematically directed toward the airports site for Covid-19 testing. Each passenger must take a Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) and undergo an oropharyngeal/nasopharyngeal swab for the search of the viral RNA by the PCR.
If the RDT test is positive passengers are immediately cared for in accordance with the established protocol in Benin.
If the RDT test is negative passengers may return to their accomodations with a requirement to ensure strict compliance with the preventive measures in force in Benin and an appointment 48 hours after for the withdrawel of the results of the PCR.
If the PCR test is positive patients are immediately cared for in accordance with the established protocol in Benin.
If the PCR test is negative patients may return to their accomodations with a requirement to ensure strict compliance with the preventive measures in force in Benin and an appointment 15 days after the arrival on Beninese soil to take the diagnostic test again.
The cost of testing is 100.000 CFA Francs.
