Citizens of the United States, Australia, Canada, and Japan who are planning on traveling to Brazil to attend the Summer Olympic Games 2016 will benefit from a visa waiver for the period from June 1st to September 18th, 2016. The visa waiver will be valid for tourism purposes only during this period. It will not be required to prove the purchase of tickets to the Olympic Games in order to benefit from the visa waiver. After entering Brazil, tourists can stay without a visa for a maximum period of 90 days. The unilateral visa waiver is solely and exclusively applicable to citizens of the United States, Australia, Canada, and Japan. The visa waiver will be valid for tourism purposes only. Citizens of countries that are not included in the joint decree and of countries which do not have a permanent visa waiver agreement with Brazil must obtain a visa in order to visit Brazil.
