First Time Applicants for an Afghanistan visa are now required to pay $365.00

If you have been issued a previous visa you must provide a copy of a previous visa with your application or you will be considered a first time applicant by the Embassy.

Applicants not applying for the first time pay $165.00.

This is the second change to the requirements this month for Visas to Afghanistan.

Update Effective 5/4/2015

Today the Afghan Embassy announced they will no longer be charging the new First Time Applicant fee, as quickly as they introduced this new fee, they have now canceled it.

Update Effective 5/13/2015   Washington DC and Los Angeles

US Government and Military contractors are now required to pay a consular fee of $365.00, non Government or Military will pay only $165.00 for a 1 year multiple entry visa to Afghanistan. Even applications in process and submitted prior to May 13th will have to pay the additional $200.00 before the Afghan Embassy or Consulate will issue the visa and release the passport.

Visa Approval Notice:

A visa approval notice is required to be submitted along with your visa application form.
Your host company or organization must apply for visa approval from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, once this approval has been issued please included a copy along with all other required documentation.
