Document Requirements

These requirements are applicable for Non-US Citizens applying for a Ghanaian Student visa in New York

PassportPassport

Please send TDS your current valid and signed passport. It must be valid 6 months beyond your intended stay and must have at least one blank visa page. Foreign Embassies cannot issue a visa on a page not labeled as a Visa page. Amendment and Endorsement pages in the back of the passport cannot be used for issuance of a visa.
A visa cannot be stamped on a page even if only one Small Stamp is on the visa page. If your passport expires within 6 months, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

Proof of DepartureProof of Departure

Please send a copy of your round trip airline tickets, or itinerary or e-ticket, or letter of confirmation from a travel agent. The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information. The Embassy does not recommend purchasing your ticket prior to a visa being issued.

Proof of US StatusProof of US Status

A Photocopy of Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) or valid U.S. visa and I-94 is required.
Travelers who entered the USA after April 26th 2013 should print the electronic I-94 form from the
Department of Homeland Security.

Letter of AcceptanceLetter of Acceptance

A Letter of Acceptance from the educational institution in Ghana is required, plus a Transfer Certificate from the last school attended.

A Letter of Enrollment from a school in the USA is required.

Minors must include a Letter of Consent signed by both parents (original signatures), a copy of the minor's birth certificate and a copy of the details pages of both parents passports.

Proof that the applicant will be supported while in Ghana without taking up employment.

A copy of your Covid-19 vaccination card is required.

International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever is required.

Please Complete and Sign the Online Application Form, once you have completed and signed the application form please print the application and include it with the rest of the required documents to send back to Travel Document Systems, please DO NOT use the Washington DC application form as this will lead to delays in processing your application.

When completely the application form you will be required to upload several documents as part of the process (Recent Color Photo, Passport Details Page, Confirmation of Place of Stay, Invitation Letter and Yellow Fever Certificate) You will be asked to confirm the amount and method of payment of your consular fees associated with your application so please carefully select the amount that corresponds to the processing time you are requesting, e.g. $90 for normal processing, and "Money Order" and please note that you are not being asked to actually pay these fees separately at the time you complete your application online rather simply to specify the amount and method of payment to be made on your behalf by TDS at the time your application is physically submitted for processing.
