Document Requirements

These requirements are applicable for Non-US Citizens applying for a Thailand Teacher visa in Los Angeles

PassportPassport

Please send TDS your current valid and signed passport. It must not expire within 6 months and must have at least one blank visa page. Foreign Embassies cannot issue a visa on a page not labeled as a Visa page. Amendment and Endorsement pages in the back of the passport cannot be used for issuance of a visa.
A visa cannot be stamped on a page even if only one Small Stamp is on the visa page. If your passport expires within 6 months, you must renew your passport and then we will secure your visa with the new passport.

Proof of DepartureProof of Departure

Please send a copy of your itinerary. The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information. The Embassy does not recommend purchasing your ticket prior to a visa being issued.

Proof of US StatusProof of US Status

A Photocopy of Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) or valid U.S. visa and I-94 is required.
Travelers who entered the USA after April 26th 2013 should print the electronic I-94 form from the
Department of Homeland Security.

Letter of AcceptanceLetter of Acceptance

An Original Letter of Acceptance from an institute school in Thailand is required.

Letter of VerificationLetter of Verification

An original letter of verification stating that the applicant has no criminal record/ background check  (verification has to be valid for not more than three months and must be issued from a state or Federal Bureau of Investigation only. Online criminal record without authorizer’s signature is unacceptable )

Approval LetterApproval Letter

For applicants who are going to teach at private schools, not listed as recognized International Schools, a copy of letter of approval from the Office of the Private Education Commission is required.

Business RegistrationBusiness Registration

A copy of school (in Thailand) license or business registration, list of shareholders and school profile.

ResumeResume

Resume of applicant and evidence of educational qualification such as a copy of diplomas /teaching certification or copies of transcript

Bank StatementBank Statement

A copy of recent bank statement ($700 per person and $1,500 per family) (The name of the applicant must indicated clearly), In case of submitting family bank statement a proof of relationship (i.e. birth certificate, marriage certificate) must be provided.

It is advisable to erase account numbers.

Police ClearancePolice Clearance

A Police Clearance Letter from your local Police Station is required.
